Hello
I am Alex, a passionate Counsellor and Psychotherapist dedicated to creating positive transformations through behavioural therapy, as well as offering compassionate support in grief and loss counselling.
I bring a unique perspective to the field of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). With 20 years of experience in the community services sector and a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Graduate Diploma of Counselling, a Bachelor of Health Science, and a Diploma of Leisure and Health. My experience spans corrections, addiction counselling, disability support, and aged care, allowing me to understand human well-being from multiple perspectives.
My strong academic background, along with my experience and unique ability to break down complex concepts to apply them in real-world scenarios, has allowed me to improve the lives of many of my clients. Through my work, I've developed expertise in creating non-judgmental, supportive environments where people can work towards positive change. My counselling approach is practical and grounded, specialising in comprehensive behavioural assessments, positive behaviour support, and working with people experiencing life transitions. I work collaboratively with clients and their support networks, drawing from my extensive experience across disability support, aged care, and behavioural support services. My focus is on understanding each person's unique needs in their real-world context and developing practical strategies that respect individual goals and empower sustainable change.
