Values

At Arose Therapy, we are passionate about helping individuals navigate through their challenges and supporting them in their journey towards personal growth and well-being. We believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and strive to establish strong rapport with our clients based on trust, empathy, and collaboration. Here are the core values and approaches that define our therapeutic practice:

Client-Centred Approach: We believe that each individual is unique and possesses the inner resources for growth and change. We work collaboratively with our clients, honouring their autonomy and respecting their values, goals, and preferences. Our aim is to empower clients to make decisions and take ownership of their therapeutic journey.

Holistic Perspective: We take a holistic approach to therapy, recognising the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. We consider various aspects of our clients' lives, including their relationships, environment, and personal values, to develop a comprehensive understanding of their experiences.

Evidence-Based Techniques: We draw from evidence-based modalities, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailoring the interventions to meet the unique needs of each client. We integrate techniques from these modalities to provide practical tools and strategies for personal growth and change.

Our Therapeutic Approaches

Here are the key modalities we integrate into our practice:

Person-Centred Therapy: Also known as client-centred therapy, this is a humanistic approach to counselling and psychotherapy developed by Carl Rogers. It is based on the belief that individuals have an innate capacity for growth, self-actualisation, and the ability to make positive changes in their lives. Person-centred therapy places a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment for clients.

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA): ABA is an evidence-based approach that focuses on understanding and improving socially significant behaviours. It uses systematic teaching methods to develop communication, social skills, daily living skills, and reduce challenging behaviours. Through careful assessment and positive reinforcement strategies, ABA helps individuals learn new skills and enhance their quality of life.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): DBT was initially developed to treat individuals with borderline personality disorder. It combines elements of CBT with mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): ACT focuses on accepting difficult thoughts and emotions whilst committing to actions aligned with personal values. It emphasises mindfulness, acceptance, and the development of psychological flexibility.

Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT): CBT is a widely used and evidence-based therapeutic approach that focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. It aims to help individuals identify and modify unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour to improve their emotional wellbeing and overall functioning.

Solution-Focused Therapy: This is a goal-directed collaborative approach that emphasises the importance of identifying solutions rather than focusing on problems. It helps clients envision their preferred future and build on their existing strengths and resources to achieve their goals. The approach is practical, brief, and focuses on what's working rather than what isn't.
